Nima Darabi

Nima is a data scientist and developer with over 15 years of experience, and he views his work through the lens of a complex systems scientist.

With a Master's degree in Computer Science and a PhD in Cognitive Science and Embodied AI, he always strives to see the big picture and combines datasets from various disciplines in a transdisciplinary manner. He is also a serial entrepreneur, having co-founded several data-driven ventures, including Skoog, where he used remote sensing and computer vision to reveal the value of standing forests.

Outside work, he started a cultural café and co-working space in Trondheim, hosting concerts, talks, magic shows, hack days and code camps. He donated it away due to the typical burnout of a one-man project. Nima turns everything into mathematics to understand it, calling it both his strength and blind spot. Plus, he is a former Iranian national whistling champion.
