Zongchang Yang

Zongchang brings scientific rigour to the Sunstone team, with a PhD in particle physics and nearly a decade of experience as a researcher at CERN. Here, he analyzed data from the largest experiments on Earth at the Large Hadron Collider.

Wanting to delve into real-world challenges, he spent some years in the energy sector using physics and machine learning to help oil companies reduce risk in flow assurance. He joined Sunstone to pivot his expertise toward “data for good." Zongchang is known in the office for his quick, sarcastic wit. Music is important to him, especially rock music, although he sings only when alone - “not to terrify others”.
